Bruce A. Beedle
Age 70, of Houlton, WI, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family on August 22, 2020 after a courageous battle with cancer. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 48 years, Paula; daughters, Amy (Chris) Henry, Stacy (Mike) Herink, Shannon (Mark) Witzel and Noelle Murphy (Tim Capelle); grandchildren, Alexandar and Carter Herink, and Tristan and Dylan Murphy; furry companion, Phoebe; brothers, Gerald “Ger”, Tom, Jack (Kathy), Dan (Nancy), Doug (Peggy) and Bob Beedle; sister, Leila Deliman; many nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
Bruce, also known as Hon, Dad, Daddy, Papa, Grandpa, Gangles, Jackpine, Too-tall, Brucie, and the Gentle Giant – grew up on the family farm in Afton, MN. He attended school in Stillwater, MN where he excelled in multiple sports. In his younger years, his favorite pastime was playing softball. He played on several teams winning countless games and tournaments as well as state championships. Bruce was known for hitting over the fence homeruns and using his 6’7” frame at first base to tag opponents out. He maintained friendships with many of the men he played ball with (calling themselves the Legends) and they continued getting together often to reminisce. Bruce was an excellent cook and enjoyed grilling for his family. He was also a skilled carpenter and worked on many homes in the area. He enjoyed camping with his family, hunting with friends in Gordon, WI, fishing in Canada, and spending time with his siblings. As a father and grandfather, he enjoyed attending his daughter’s and four grandson’s sporting events. Many times, traveling long distances to cheer them on. Bruce profoundly touched so many people’s lives, and he will forever be in our hearts.
A celebration of Bruce’s life will be Friday, August 28, 2020, 11:00 A.M. at BRADSHAW CELEBRATION OF LIFE CENTER, 2800 Curve Crest Boulevard, Stillwater.
In accordance with CDC guidelines, masks are required.
