Chelsea Erler

Chelsea Margaret Erler

.....left this world on October 2, 2022, at the age of 39. She was born on May 14,1983, to Becky and Tom Olson. Chelsea is survived by her husband, Leo andchildren, Owen and Cora, her mother, Becky Olson, in-laws Steve and Pam Erler, and many relatives, friends and co-workers. Chelsea was preceded in death by her father.

Chelsea grew up in Eden Prairie, MN. She married Leo Erler in 2008 on a beautiful October day at the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum. Chelsea was a Registered Nurse, finishing her education in Tampa, Florida. She and Leo settled in Roseville and went about building a life and home. They welcomed a son, Owen in 2013 and a daughter, Cora in 2015.

Chelsea inherited her dad’s carpentry skills and along with Leo they made their house into a beautiful home that reflected her personality, bold and bright. She never approached a new task saying, “I don’t know how to do that” but, “I will figure this out!” She took immense pride in growing beautiful dahlias and often shared bouquets with friends. Chelsea was feisty, funny, thoughtful, and sweet. Her humor often lit up a too quiet room.

Growing up she always looked forward to “Olson Fest”, the big family campout at  her Aunt and Uncle’s lake. She made many trips to Iowa to visit Grandparents andher cousins, whom she fondly called her siblings. Chelsea and Leo enjoyed family trips with Owen and Cora to Wisconsin, Lake Superior North Shore, and lakes in northern Minnesota. She loved being at a cabin where she was usually the last to leave the campfire and the first to suggest a midnight pontoon cruise.

Throughout her 15+ year career as an RN, Chelsea sought out the most challenging jobs. She worked in the Emergency Room at Hennepin County Medical Center. We were in awe of her strength in handling such difficult cases. She bravely cared for patients during the entire Covid pandemic.

Owen and Cora were the joy and love of her life. Together they enjoyed taking their dog, Bode, for walks, biking, and decorating for the holidays. She was most content when she had one of her little ones on her lap, or was enjoying a good cocktail with Leo.

Her life was too short, but she left her footprints in this challenging world. Chelsea will live on in the lives of Leo, Owen, and Cora and in the hearts and memories of her family and friends.
