Mass for Agnes C. Burgess (Schnell) age 79 of Stillwater, will be held Friday, January 3, 2003, 10:00 am at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Stillwater. Visitation will be on Thursday, January 2, 2003 from 4 - 8 pm at BRADSHAW, 6061 Osgood Ave. No., Stillwater, and one hour prior to service at church. Interment will be at Fairview Cemetery, Stillwater.
Mrs. Burgess died peacefully at home Sat., December 28, 2002 following a brief battle with cancer. She was born on March 10, 1923 in Nunda, So. Dakota to parents, Anthony and Christine Schnell. Agnes graduated from Stillwater HS. In addition to helping out with her nine brothers and sisters, she enjoyed her employment as a clerk at the Washington County Register of Deeds. Following her marriage to Howard Burgess after WW II, she settled into her roles as wife, mom and grandma. She was an active member of St. Michael's Church and spent many hours doing voluunteer work through her circle. Her love, patience nurturing and gentle manner were shared daily with her family and friends. Time for fishing, quilting, knitting and gardening completed her life.
Preceded in death by husband, Howard Burgess and parents. Survived by children, John (Cindy) Burgess, Mary (Gary) Ryhti, Christine (Bill) Towers, David (Pam) Burgess, and Roger (Lori) Burgess; 17 grandchildren; brothers, Jerome (Eva), Raymond (Bobbie), Thomas (Betty) Schnell; sisters, Dorothy (Tom) Gerson, Marguerite Gedatus, Mary McCoy, Betty Herbert, Jeannine (Craig) Hoffbeck, Josephine Becker; many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
