Koehler, Agnes L.
age 92, of Saint Paul
Teacher of office education in St. Paul Public Schools from 1947-77, including at Central, Humboldt and Harding High Schools. Prior to that she taught in secondary schools in Keewatin, Luverne, Benson and Hopkins, Minnesota. Many people in the metro area remember Agnes as their teacher. Since retirement Agnes has been an active volunteer at United Hospital, Science Museum of Minnesota and at St. Paul-Reformation Lutheran Church. She was an active member of the St. Paul Chapter of AAUW and in many teachers organizations. She was a member of the Gamma Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma. Agnes was an avid traveler, especially to Germany. In 2001 she received the Arline Winfield Award for outstanding community service and contribution to the lives of children and youth given by the David M. Winfield Foundation. Agnes graduated from Central High School and received a B.S. degree in Business Education, with distinction, from the University of Minnesota. Agnes is survived by her brother, Henry Koehler, her nephew, William (Margaret) Koehler and her niece, Sheryl (Charles) Goffin, all of California. Service Thursday, 7 PM at St. Paul Reformation Lutheran Church, 100 North Oxford Street, St. Paul. Visitation one hour prior to service.
