Agnes Thro Lisowsky
Age 99
6-29-1905 12-27-2004
Died December 27, 2004, at home in the presence of loving family and friends. Preceded in death by loving husband, Peter; parents, Joseph H. and Katherine Thro; sister Sr. Agneta Thro, SSND; brother, A. Edmund. Survived by nephew Kenneth (Donna) Thro, great nieces Kathy (John) Barry, Sandra (David) Bohrer, Cheryl (Robert) Padgette, and many relatives, students, and friends. Originally from Mankato, Agnes came to St. Paul in 1922 and began her professional musical career as accompanist, soprano soloist, and music teacher. For many years, Agnes played the organ for Mount Zion Temple and the piano for the St. Paul Jewish Community Center Orchestra. Until her death, Agnes was teaching music to a studio of 18 students. Agnes embodied the spirit of love, courage, and truth. She was extremely talented as a teacher, and priceless as a friend. In addition to music, she taught how to live, how to age, how to adapt to the changes that life requires, and how to be honest to self. With thankful hearts, we bid her farewell at a Memorial Service at 10:00 a.m. on January 8, 2005, at BRADSHAW CELEBRATION OF LIFE CENTER, 2800 Crest Curve Boulevard, Stillwater, (NW corner of Hwy. 36 and Co. Rd. 5) with gathering time one-half hour before the service. Private internment at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to the St. Paul Jewish Community Center for its music program.
