Alan Richard (Dick) Kircher died on November 23, 2010 at Woodbury Health Care Center in Woodbury, MN.
Mr. Kircher was born November 28, 1925 in Olivia, MN to parents Faye (Kingsbury) and George Kircher. The youngest of four boys, he was baptized and confirmed at St. John's Episcopal Church in Olivia and graduated from Olivia High School in 1943. In 1947 he received his BA in business administration from the University of Minnesota and was then employed in the Bond Department of Northwestern National Bank of Minneapolis. During the Korean War, Mr. Kircher was drafted and served in the U.S. Army; he was stationed at Fort Knox, Kentucky until receiving an honorable discharge. After a brief return to Northwestern Bank, he joined his father and brother, Jerry, at the Citizens State Bank of Olivia as Assistant Cashier and served on the Board of Directors for the Bank. He was a fully licensed insurance agent for the Bank Insurance Agency. In 1960 he joined the Cosmopolitan State Bank of Stillwater serving as Vice President and President until his retirement in about 1987. He was very active in community and civic organizations in both the Olivia and Stillwater communities.
Mr. Kircher is survived by his brother Wayne Kircher of Willmar, MN; sister-in-law Marilyn Kircher of Omaha, NE; and several nieces, nephews, and other close relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, G. Jerome Kircher and John F. Kircher.
A celebration of Dick's life will be Saturday, December 4, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. at BRADSHAW CELEBRATION OF LIFE CENTER, 2800 Curve Crest Boulevard (NW corner of Hwy 36 & Co Rd 5) Stillwater, MN. Family will receive friends following the service.
