Alan Pollock

Alan Alphonse Pollock, age 72, a resident of Afton, MN and a former resident of Bowlus, MN, passed away on Wednesday, June 5, 2024.

Alan is to be cremated and a Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, June 15, 2024 at 11:00 A.M. at St. John Lutheran Church in Woodbury, MN.

Alan Pollock was born April 11, 1952 in St. Paul, MN to Alphonse Pollock and Rosbie (Habas) Booth. He was the first of four siblings. He grew up in the Bowlus area and attended Royalton Secondary. He then attended St. Cloud State University for photographic engineering and eventually taught at the University. After leaving the University, he continued his career in the photographic engineering field working for big names such as 3M, Agfa, and Fujifilm until he retired in 2018.

Alan was a devout Christian and a member of Liberty Church at the time of his passing. He was also a member of and heavily involved with Gideons International, holding the roles of President and Secretary in his local chapter. He devoted much of his life to spreading the word of God and supporting various churches and other faith-based initiatives in his and broader communities, including Campus Crusade for Christ and John G Lake Ministries International.

His favorite pastimes were spending time at the cabin, reading, playing card and board games, boating, fishing, bird watching, gardening, traveling, watching the MN Twins, Wild and Vikings and visiting with family and friends. He shared his love for others through his gourmet culinary skills.

Alan is survived by daughters Acacia of Farmington, MN and Jena of Minneapolis, MN. He is also survived by brothers Bruce (Karen) of Bowlus and John (Kim) of Burtrum, MN and sister Janis Zumbrunnen of Monticello, MN and his mother Rosbie of Monticello. He was preceded in death by his father Alphonse Pollock and nephew Dion Pollock.
