After a long and full life, Alice Kolliner Colombo died peacefully at her home in Stillwater, Minnesota on Saturday, August 3, 2019.
She is survived by her daughter, Sarah Stevenson; daughter-in-law, Marcia Stevenson; stepchildren, Sally Roffers; and Mark Colombo; grandchildren, Connha (Eric) Classon; Brienne (Cullen) Nelson; Lynn (Gaylan) Poland; Scott (Karla) Roffers; Robert (Maxine) Roffers; Laura (Paul) Tomczik; Amy Clements; Barrett (Amy) Colombo; John (Mai) Colombo; Beth (Troy) Akerknecht; and Tony (Katie) Colombo; numerous great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Lieutenant Colonel Ray Ericksen; William E. Stevenson; and R.J. Colombo; her son, Sean Stevenson; and her stepson, Barrett Colombo.
It is said that “the idea is to die young as late as possible.” If this is true, then Alice succeeded brilliantly. Although she died one week shy of her 99th birthday, she remained young until the end. She was an astute observer of life and people; a storyteller with a wicked sense of humor; a fount of local and family history; and, a beloved neighbor and friend. Alice Kolliner Colombo is alive in the memory of the living: she will not leave us.
