Almeta Harriet
Born in Grand Rapids, Michigan on September 11, 1932, died in Oak Park Heights, Minnesota on June 16, 2014 at the age of 81. She was preceded in death by her parents Raymond and Olga Bolander Powell; survived by her brother, Burwell Powell and greatly missed by her husband, Harold; daughter, Julie Dean(Dan); son, David Harper (Donna); grandchildren, Benjamin Dean (Ashley), Bethany Gomez (Kurt), Aaron Dean (Christie), Meghan Harper, and Jack Harper; and great grandchildren, Tyler and Olivia Gomez. She graduated from Sparta High School, Sparta, Michigan; B.A. Western Michigan University; and M.A. Concordia University, River Forest, Illinois. She was honored to be chosen in Who's Who in American Education, 1990. She was noted as an outstanding and talented elementary education teacher who loved teaching her 1st and 3rd grade children for 20 years in Michigan and Illinois. Service Friday, 11:00 A.M. at STILLWATER EVANGELICAL FREE CHURCH, 7671 Manning Avenue North, Stillwater. Private interment Rutherford Cemetery. Visitation Thursday, 5:00-7:00 P.M. at BRADSHAW CELEBRATION OF LIFE CENTER, 2800 Curve Crest Boulevard (NW corner of Hwy 36 and Co Rd 5), Stillwater. Memorials to Gideons International, Boutwells Landing Presbyterian Foundation, or The Harold and Almeta Harper Elementary Education Scholarship Fund, Judson University, Elgin, Illinois.
