Alvin Marcotte

"Chief" Father and Grandfather Age 89 of Lindstrom, formerly of St. Paul. Passed away peacefully on February 5, 2011. Preceded in death by his wife Arlene Edwall Marcotte, sisters Violet and Hazel, and son David. Survived by sons Michael (Susan), Gary, James (Ronnie) and Daniel (Julie); grandchildren Garrett, Kaylin, Marielle, Mackenzie and Elise; sister Florence Rassett (Chuck); daughter Kathy Skalecke and her children Shandra, Scott, Steve (Hannah) and Todd (Lisa); and Kendis Heffley. Alvin was a member of the 90th Infantry Division of the 3rd Army (the "Tough Hombres") and was awarded the Purple Heart . He loved his family, fishing, living at the lake, baseball and escaping Minnesota winters. Service will be held on Friday, February 11 at 11:30am at GLORIA DEI LUTHERAN CHURCH, 700 Snelling Avenue So., St. Paul, MN, with visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment Ft. Snelling National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Disabled American Veterans ( dav.org ).
