Alvina Connelly

Connelly, Pat (Alvina Rose) nee Guck Born December 12, 1923; died December 21, 2013. Preceded in death by husband, John, sons, Kevin and Marc, grandson, Kevin Andrew, and 8 siblings. Survived by children, Michele and Jonna Connelly; Jacquelyn Hadley (Larry); Tim, Patric and Maureen Connelly; Michael Connelly (Cara). Also survived by 19 grandchildren: Stacy Nierenhausen (Mel), Alexandra Houska, Michael John Scholtes, Marcus Lunieski, Margaret Pace (Jim); Elizabeth Young (Cody), Melissa Higham (Damian), Kelly Connelly, Katie Connelly-McVoy (Missy), Adam, Angela and Joseph Connelly, Brian Houska (Joy), Kyle, Colin, Kayla, Kendra, Anna and Jack Connelly. Pat was born at home in St. Stephen's, MN. She worked for Douglas Aircraft in California during WWII; then began a long career with Bell Companies, which she interrupted to raise 9 beautiful, exceptional, and troublesome children. She returned to work at Northwestern Bell in 1970 and retired in 1985. She enjoyed fierce 500 games, visiting Minnesota casinos, relaxing at the family cabin on Mille Lacs Lake, and was a master at creating cinnamon rolls and soup. She participated in many volunteer activities as a member of St. Albert the Great Parish in Minneapolis for nearly 60 years. Mass of Christian Burial Friday, December 27, at 11 AM at CHURCH OF SAINT ALBERT THE GREAT, East 29th St. & 32nd Ave So., Minneapolis. Visitation Thursday, December 26, from 4 to 8 PM at BRADSHAW (McDivitt-Hauge), 3131 Minnehaha Ave. So., Minneapolis and one hour prior to the service at church. Interment at Resurrection Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Prader-Willi Syndrome Association (www.pwsausa.org).
