Angela Michele Newland-Peterson

Age 61 of Stillwater, Minnesota passed away courageously and peacefully on Friday, April 23, 2021 at United Hospital in St. Paul, MN. Angie was born in Bismarck, North Dakota on September 6, 1959. She graduated from St. Peter High School in 1978. Angie was married to Mick Peterson on June 23,1990.

Angie worked with vulnerable adults and then in different daycare organizations. She was a certified caregiver for all ages. Angie worked for Warm World Child Development Center. As a teacher in the 6-18 months toddler room and everyone loved Miss Angie. She loved doing activities and having special days for her babies. Her warm, caring, unselfish and vibrant personalities are often traits required to work in the field of caregiving which is the field that she had chosen. It was a perfect fit for her, and she loved it. But with Angie this was just the norm for the type of person she was, all the time and every day. She would often go without in order to help or make someone else’s situation or day be better. She truly had a gentle and kind heart and was the type of person that would give you the shirt off her back! Even though she had her professional side, she also had a humorous side. She would light up a room and was usually the life of the party. Angie enjoyed life to the fullest and she wanted everyone else to do the same. Her nieces and nephews always looked forward to Aunty Angie coming over with her bag of goodies, because they knew it was going to be a good day! You could always count on Angie and could always expect some type of party and planned activities, she loved to entertain. She also loved to garden and work with her flowers. She would often go to her parent’s house and help them in their garden and had such a great satisfaction.

Danielle was always the one person that she always wanted to please. Angie would do anything for her daughter and always made sure she had everything she needed.

Angela is survived by her husband, Wayne (Mick) Peterson; daughter, Danielle Peterson; parents, Mike and Arlene Newland; brothers, Kevin (Cindy) Newland, Todd (Deb) Newland; sister, Cindy (Terry) Jacobson; many nieces, nephews; and many friends.

Mass of Christian Burial Friday, May 7, 2021, 11:00 A.M. at CHURCH OF ST. MARY, 423 South Fifth Street, Stillwater.  Attendance is limited to 100 people.
