Ann Patrick Schmidt, 94, died peacefully on April 22, 2017, surrounded by her daughters and granddaughter. She was born July 18, 1922 in Hinckley, Minnesota, the daughter of Frank Patrick and Ruth (Mullen) Patrick. She graduated from Hinckley High School in 1940, then obtained a one-year Teacher's Certificate in Hinckley and taught in a country school for a short time.
On October 5, 1946 Ann married Les Schmidt after he returned from World War II. They were married 57 years. After Les' retirement, they spent winters in Yuma, Arizona. In the fall of 2002, they sold their home in Hinckley and moved to Mora, Minnesota. After Les' death in 2004, Ann moved to Oakdale, Minnesota to be closer to family. In 2011 she moved to Croixdale Assisted Living.
Throughout her life Anne enjoyed antiquing and for many years participated in antique sales in Stillwater, Minnesota.
Ann was preceded in death by her husband, Les; and her sister, Mary. She is survived by her two children, Jan (Jerry) Cashman of Bozeman, Montana, and Becky (Bob) Ogden of Lewisville, North Carolina; grandchildren, Anne (Curt) Cashman Hoppie of Frenchtown, Montana, Joe (Tracy) Cashman and Mike (Jana) Cashman of Bozeman, Montana, Stacey (Jeff) Hempleman of Gilbert, Arizona, and Abbie Eaton of Lewisville, North Carolina; 10 great-grandchildren; sister, Pat Syverson; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 27 at 11 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Hinckley with visitation at 10 a.m. Memorials can be made in her name to Lakeview Hospital Hospice, Hinckley Fire Museum or St. Paul Lutheran Church.
