Passed away 2/9/2008. She was born 5/20/1915 in Australia to Rev. John Koch and Anna. She lived on 4 continents. As a long-time school teacher in the St. Croix Valley, Anna was active as a volunteer for over 70 years with programs such as Community Volunteer Services and Senior Centers, the St. Croix Valley Chapter of the American Red Cross, the Washington County Agricultural Society and Fair Board, Lakeview Hospice, and through her church, St. Lucas Community Church of Lake Elmo. She received many awards for her community involvement, including the Virginia McKnight Binger Award in Human Services, the Blue Cross/Blue Shield ?Ageless Hero? Award, and the Lifetime Achievement Award presented by Community Volunteer Service of the St. Croix Valley Area. She was also honored as one of Washington County?s Outstanding Senior Citizens. Survived by sons, Dennis H. (Sharon) and John J. (Jean); grandchildren, Rebecca, Kristine, Debra, & Daniel; & brother, Rev. Walter Koch (Shirley). Preceded by husband, Harry; grandson, Richard; & brothers, Ernst & Siegfried. Memorial Service 11 AM Wednesday at ST. LUCAS COMMUNTIY CHURCH, 1195 Manning Ave., Lake Elmo. Visitation will be held from 9-11 Wednesday at the church. Interment will be at a later date. Memorials preferred to donors choice.
