Dziuban, Arnold Roger "Arnie"
Loving brother, uncle, great uncle, cousin and friend to many young and old passed away June 22, 2023 after a brief illness at Mercy Hospital in Coon Rapids, MN at the age of 68.
Arnold was born in Detroit, Michigan and spent his summers at the family farm in Standish, Michigan. Arnold's early years involved all things playing sports with neighborhood friends and his many cousins on at the farm. Arnold loved to play street hockey with neighborhood friends and as he became a teenager, crossing the border to rent ice in Canada. He loved hearing the "'swish, swish" sound of the blades on the ice.
Arnold's career was in Commercial Printing. He came to Minnesota in the fall of 1983 for a job at John Roberts Printing and stayed forty years. He had many great friends through the printing industry and was included in many of their familial events.
Everyday was an adventure. Arnold found joy in his many nieces and nephews. Many fond memories of taking nephews for the weekend, camping with other nephews and playing ball. In Minnesota he and Katie would hang out with Darla and Mike Buechele's children. Many hours were spent playing at the park, swimming at the Crooked Lake Beach, and sliding at all the best hills around town. He always carried a football in the trunk of his car. When Lori's great-niece Sydney Reinitz was born he soon began making memories with her from sliding, climbing trees, multi-generational water fights and perfecting their own version of the chicken dance.
Upon retiring in 2007, his passions included gardening and more gardening. He continued to add apple trees, flower gardens, vegetable gardens, grapevines, raspberries, strawberries. The garden eventually took up most of the back yard. Why spend your time cutting grass? Along with all of the produce, Arnold canned v-8 juice, raspberry sauce, apple sauce, apple juice, sun pickles . He shared his pickles with many friends and family in Minnesota. He was always ready to lend a helping hand to all.
Arnold was preceded in death by parents John Joseph and Bertha Margaret Dziuban, sister Lillian "Lil" Dziuban.
Arnold is survived by Life Partner Lori Peterson, father figure to Katie Altman, siblings Marion (Don), John James (Rose), Alice (Joe), David (Marsha), Linda (Jon), Deanna (Ken), Janet (Robin), Joe (Margaret), Paul (Sherry), 53 nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, many beloved cousins and Lori's family including Sharon "Mother Peterson," Jim and Cheryl Reinitz, Roger and Susan Peterson, Greta, David, Kate, Kevin, Sydney Ann and Steven James.
Arnold was the ultimate caregiver before and after Lori's heart transplant. He stepped up to the plate and learned everything to keep Lori going with her milrinone pump at home.
Services will be held at Christ Lutheran Church, Marine on St. Croix on July 8th at 11:00 with visitation one hour before. Please wear comfortable clothing and sunscreen as we will be out on the lawn.
The family would like to thank everyone at Mercy Hospital in the ICU that cared for Arnie. Everyone displayed kindness, compassion, and care along with their medical expertise. Lori would especially like to thank Marissa at the desk by the parking ramp entrance. Maritza was a bright light and helped lift Lori's spirits each day.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests any donations to Second Chance for Life Foundation scflf.org or Christ Lutheran Church, Marine on St. Croix, MN www.clcmarine.org.
