Went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on April 17, 2012 after a courageous battle with ALS. Butch was born on November 29, 1940 in Hibbing, MN to Fred and Augusta Sawyer who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by brothers Roy, Fred and Norm Sawyer and sisters Edna Penner and Luella Sawyer. Butch is survived by his wife Elane, stepson Jeffrey (Stephanie), brothers Arthur (Dorothy), Irvin (Hazel), sister Beverly Osborne, many nieces, nephews cousins and close friends. Butch was a master craftsman who built and restored many beautiful homes along with exceptional quality furniture that will remain as a great testimony to his skill. Butch will be greatly missed by the many people who called him friend and family. A Celebration of Butch's Life will be Monday, April 23, 2012, 11:00 A.M. at ROCKPOINT CHURCH, Highway 36 & Keats Avenue North, Lake Elmo. Visitation one hour prior to the service at church. Memorials are preferred.
