Audrey M. Haller

Audrey M. Haller, a strong and determined Swede whose warmth and smile would light up a room, passed away peacefully on August 30, 2024. Preceded in death by her husband and the love of her life, James Haller; her parents, Albert and Alice Willman; her brothers, Milton (Donna) and Roy Willman; her sister, Eleanor (Ted) Strauch; and her granddaughter, Clara. Audrey leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, a dazzle of fashion and a dash of sass. She is survived by her children, Jim, Joe (Kristen) and John. Her grandchildren — James and Dan (Jim), Amelia and Quinlan (Joe), and Emmett and Linnea (John) — were her pride and joy, each holding a special place in her heart. 

Audrey was fiercely loyal, offering unconditional love to family and friends. Known for her welcoming spirit and effusive kindness, she had a magical way of making everyone she met feel like they were the most important person in the world.

She graduated from the Ancker Hospital School of Nursing and spent her early career as a R.N. She also served as a dedicated volunteer for the Women’s Association of the Minnesota Symphony Orchestra. Later in her life, she received her Bachelor’s degree from Metro State University. Perhaps Audrey's favorite job was working in the Oval Room at Dayton's downtown Minneapolis where she was able to combine her passion for fine clothing and her love of meeting people.

Audrey's soulmate was Jim. Together, they loved sailing Lake Pepin, traveling the world, biking with friends, attending concerts at Orchestra Hall, and cooking spicy Thai dishes. Tom Yum and green chicken curry were family favorites. 

The family invites you to attend a celebration of Audrey’s life at 11am on Wednesday, September 4, 2024 at Gustavus Adolphus Lutheran Church, 1669 Arcade Street, St. Paul. Visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment Roselawn Cemetery. 

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred for either Dress for Success or the Gables at Boutwells Landing.
