Survived by siblings Nancy (John) O’Malley, Ronald, James (Joyce), Dennis (Karen) DeJohn, children Sue (Scott) Retterath, Pete (Deb) Schlener, Nancy (Bob) Pazik, and stepchildren Laura (Tom) O’Brien, Gail (Sam) Crecelius and Cindy Porter (John Christensen). Barb was born in Peoria, IL on November 9th, 1936 to Alma and Dominick DeJohn, the oldest of seven children. Barb worked as an ER Nurse at Bethesda Hospital and then St. John’s Hospital. The fast pace of the ER fit her personality perfectly. Barb was involved with and volunteered many hours to the North Star Ski Club and the Gateway Trail Association. She met her husband Al through the ski club. They had many miles of adventures together, cycling, cross-country skiing, hiking and canoeing. His enthusiasm for adventure mixed with her energy made them quite the pair. They loved to share adventures with their children, grandchildren and many, many others. They invested time and made memories.

A service will be held on Friday, October 11 at 10:30 with visitation beginning at 9:30 at Boutwells Landing at The Swanson Memorial Chapel, 5600 Norwich Parkway, Oak Park Heights, MN 55082. Lunch will follow at 11:15 in the auditorium.

Memorials preferred to Parks and Trails Council of Minnesota https://www.parksandtrails.org/.

Special thanks to the entire Boutwells Landing staff. She truly loved living at Boutwells, especially with her bestie, Carol. They were a pair, always together.
