Beatrice “Bea” Healy
Age 93, Bea passed away peacefully on January 29, 2022. Born January 1, 1929 in Stacyville, Iowa to Edward and Olivia Merten.
Bea grew up on a farm in Rose Creek with no electricity or running water. She later moved to Adams for high school and then worked at the telephone company. She married Francis Healy (Fran) on July 11, 1959 in Austin, Minnesota and together, they raised five children.
Bea wore many hats but what was most important to her was being a loving sister, wife, mother, and grandmother. In addition to her work at the telephone company, she owned her own sewing business and was a school picture assistant. Above all, she was a homemaker. She enjoyed sewing, volunteering, church and bridge. The family went on many camping trips and later in life she and Francis traveled the world. Bea was a story teller. She was always smiling, silly and easy going. She loved to dance and was very stylish.
Bea was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Francis; parents; siblings, Clarence and Donald; in-laws, Katie, Larry and Snip.
She will be sadly missed by children, Laurie (Virginia), Maureen, Craig (Debbie), Colleen (Al), Kathleen (Eric); grandchildren, Mikayla, Noah, Mya and Haley; siblings, Gladys, Ronald, Barb and Harold, in-laws, Carol, Sharon, and Judy; many nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
