Passed away….February 26, 2022
Preceded in death by Parents Dominic Koalska and Helen Sinna, brother Dominic Koalska, infant grandson Jack Koalska.
Survived by loving and devoted wife Marcia of 62 years. Six children: Kathleen (Duane) Roering, David (Susanne), Gregory (Paula), Susan (John) Meuwisson, Michael, Matthew (Leah), 16 grandchildren, eight great grandchildren.
Attended St. Andrews grade school and Murray High School. He worked at Northern States Power for 35 years. Coached baseball, hockey and football at Sylvan playground and North End hockey. Active in St. Agnes and St. Bernards Catholic Church Men’s Club. Enjoyed Gopher and St. John’s University hockey. Veteran of the Korean War and member of American Legion and Veteran of Foreign Wars. Long time member of Como Golf Club.
Bernie was proud to be a Korean War Vet and wore his hat wherever he went. He loved to play cards, spending time at Culvers with his coffee buddies, but most of all he enjoyed relaxing at the Dead Lake and Canadian cabins.
Special “thank you” to St. Croix Hospice for their care given to Bernie.
Memorial service held Monday, March 7 at Bradshaw Funeral Home (Rice St) in St. Paul from 4-8pm. Mass at St. Agnes Catholic Church (St. Paul) on Tuesday, March 8 at 11am with visitation 1 hour prior, followed by lunch.
