(nee Elkin) passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 10, 2008 in Stillwater, MN. Betty was born in Minneapolis, MN on July 30, 1923 to O. Arthur and Nina (nee Johnson) Elkin. She spent her childhood in Wandroos and New Richmond, WI. She was married August 16, 1947 to Vernon Dufresne in Somerset, WI. Betty was a wonderful wife, mother and homemaker. She worked for many years at the New Richmond Clinic. Betty is survived by her children, David (Karen) of Stillwater, MN; Daniel (Linda) of St. Paul, MN; Craig (Becky) of Amery, WI and Cynthia Pierce of Appleton, WI. Her grandchildren, Jonathan, Krista, Allison, Rachel, Sarah & Lara Dufresne, Katie & Grant Pierce, Alycia (Paul) Jacobson and soon to be born great-grandchild. She is also survived by her brother, James (Corrine) Elkin; sister, Nila (James) McGregor; brothers-in-law, Brother Raymond Dufresne, CSC and Norman (Pauline) Dufresne; sisters-in-law, Marjorie Dufresne, Theresa (Roland) Martell, Sister Elaine Dufersne, CSJ, and Marcia Wagner. Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon; parents, Art and Nina Elkin; father and mother-in-law, Edward and Emma Dufresne; son-in-law, Kirby Pierce; infant grandson, Nicholas Pierce; sister and brother-in-law, Elaine and William Stecker; brother, John Elkin; brothers-in-law, Lee DuFresne and Steve Wagner; sister-in-law, Barb Dufresne. Mass of Christian Burial Thursday, February 14, 11:00AM at SAINT ANNE?S CATHOLIC CHURCH, 141 Church Hill Road, Somerset, WI. Visitation one hour prior to Mass at the church. Interment Saint Anne?s Cemetery. Arrangements by Bradshaw Funeral & Cremation Services, 651 439-5511.
