Bill Torgerud age 85 of Stillwater passed away on Sunday September 4, 2022.
Preceded in death by his daughter, Linda; parents Roy and Gladys; sister, Dorothy; brothers Robert, Lucky, Don, Dick, Jerry, and David.
Survived, and deeply missed, by the love of his life for 66 years, Pat; daughters Karen (Bill “Will”) Engstrum and Lorie Torgerud; son Thomas (Leah) Torgerud; grandchildren Matthew, Katie (Steve “Stephano”), Daniel, Jenny (Tony), Bob (Ariel), Asa (Michele), Tomm (Meg), Hannah; great grandchildren Antoine, Mikaiya, Maiya, Blake, Brooke, Markus, Oliver, Frida, Ezekiel, Mae (expected in October); sisters-in-law Carole, Jean, Jeanne and Julie (John); brother-in-law Jim (Margie); and many nieces and nephews.
Born in La Crosse, Wisconsin, Bill was a proud member of the National Guard from 1954-1969, where he obtained the rank of Sgt. First Class. He earned his living and worked hard for many years as a diesel and small engine manager and educator.
His greatest passions were his family, hunting, fishing, and camping. When he wasn’t enjoying the outdoors, Bill enjoyed collecting firearms, reading cowboy novels, watching westerns and military movies, telling stories, and as a die-hard fan, cheering on the Minnesota Vikings, watching every game no matter where they stood in the league.
