Brian Mechley, loving son, grandson, brother, uncle, and cousin, passed away unexpectedly on May 21, 2021.
Brian was born on December 6, 1983 in Duluth, Minnesota to Daniel Mechley (Brenda) and Lori Chase (Rob).
He is survived by his parents, stepparents, siblings Katie (Frank) Santos and Amanda (Joey) Woehrle, Alex (Erica) Askelin, Drew Mechley, and Dylan Mechley; as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Brian was a beaming light of kindness and understanding. His essence brought a smile to everyone around him. He loved fishing with his dad; baseball games with his little brothers; and kayaking with his mom. The outdoors meant so much to Brian, he loved mountain biking, rock climbing, and the BWCA with friends and family. He also had a passion for travel to experience new cultures and places. He was deeply compassionate and was especially caring and respectful with seniors. He felt most satisfied when he was able to help others, and he often did.
Brian was also an artist and a poet. He wrote powerful poems about his life. I will be sharing examples of both at the celebration of his life.
The CELEBRATION OF LIFE will be held on June 10, 2021 at Minnehaha Falls Park (Wabun Pavilion C), 4655 46th Ave S, Minneapolis, MN 55406.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to People Incorporated (Brian was held in high regard with many people at Huss Recovery for Men, Staff and Residents, alike).
