Brion Perkins

Memorial Service for Brion Ramont (Louie) Perkins will be held on Saturday, November 20, 2021, 11:00am at Word of Life Church, 1804 7th Avenue, Rock Island, IL 61201.  Mr. Perkins unexpectedly departed this life on October 16, 2021, at Hennepin County Hospital, Minneapolis, MN 55415.

Mr. Perkins was born March 2, 1964, in Iowa City University Hospital, Iowa City, Iowa.  He was reared in Davenport, Iowa where he attended the public schools.  He also worked in the public school system before going into management in the food industry.  He graduated from Central High School in 1982 and went on to serve in the US Navy for a short time.  He married Mary (Hawkins) Clark in 1985. He fathered one son and raised one daughter in this union.  After that marriage ended, he married Christy Kipling (Perkins) in 1990. They moved and resided in Iowa City, Iowa for over 15 years before he moved to Minneapolis, MN.

Mr. Perkins was a hard worker as he loved preparing, serving, and catering to his customers, community, and family. He was a loveable guy. And like many, he enjoyed sports. He had a love for the Word of God. He studied many religions and keep his faith in the true and living GOD.

His life is acknowledged by his sons: Brion Perkins I, Indianapolis, IN, Brion Perkins II, Lakeville, MN, Bridell Banks, Davenport, IA, daughter Brittany Grainger, Minneapolis, MN, stepdaughter Tanya, his brothers: Antonio (Nina) Perkins, Xavier Perkins, Davenport, IA, his aunts Charis Perkins and Rev. Dr. Eugenia Stevenson, Minneapolis, MN, Missionary Tamara Perkins, Davenport, IA, his grandchildren other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father: Valire J. Perkins and Carl Cartwirght, his maternal grandparents: Eugene and Dorothy Perkins, paternal grandparents: Earlene and Louie Cartwirght, an uncle Broc Perkins and aunt Piper Perkins.

We still live and we still laugh but Brion will be greatly missed.
