Bruce Church

Bruce A. Church of New Brighton passed away at 71 years old on Tuesday, November 21, 2023 in hospice care in North St. Paul.

Bruce was born March 20th, 1952 in St. Paul, the second child and first son of Raquel (Ricki Trevino) Church and Glenn Church. He graduated from Johnson High School Class of 1970 and the University of Minnesota with a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, a credential he put to use to achieve his career dream of successfully leading new projects engineering life-saving medical devices at Medtronic, SciMed, MicroPure, and others.

He married Carolyn Jo (Reinhart) Church April 11th, 1981 at White Bear Lake's United Methodist Church (div. 2006). Survived by siblings Carolyn, Kevin, Cosette, Larry, and Steven; children Dante (Beth) Vono, Emily Church, Andrew Church, Megan Church (Kyle Anderson), and Laura (Dennis) Lewis; and grandchildren Lauren, Cameron, Leonardo, Leland, and Freya Mae. Preceded in death by parents Ricki and Glenn, sister Debbie, and daughter Sarah. Bruce loved woodworking, cooking, sailing, rollerblading, dancing, playing cards, camping and the North Shore, and telling amusing anecdotes, especially about his children. The family is eternally grateful to Jenny Hodowanic, who helped his children care for him when he became unable to care for himself.

The service will be held on Friday, December 1st at Bradshaw Funeral Home, 4600 Greenhaven Dr., White Bear Lake, Minnesota 55127. Visitation 10:00 - 11:00; service 11:00-11:30.

In lieu of sending flowers, memorial donations can be made out to the family.
