Bryan Keith Roos, age 71, of Mahtomedi MN passed away on Thursday March 4, 2021 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on January 20, 1950 in Sheldon, IA to Kenneth and Berdena (Miedema) Roos. He graduated from Sheldon High School in 1968 and received his engineering degree from Iowa State University. Bryan married Lori Potter in August 1971.
Bryan enjoyed a fulfilling engineering career with 3M that supported his family and took them on an adventure across the world. After returning from Europe, the family made their home in Minnesota. Bryan retired after 37 years in 2009.
A devoted husband, father, and grandfather, he was focused on what mattered most and displayed great pride in his children and grandchildren. Always a positive man, he lived his life with kindness, integrity, and faith. Above all, his greatest happiness came from time spent with his loving wife Lori, family, and friends. Over the years, he enjoyed designing and remodeling home improvement projects. Summers were spent making memories on the lake where he was always found with a smile on his face, whether playing with the grandchildren, driving the pontoon, or finding something to fix.
Bryan will be deeply missed by his wife Lori of 49 years; children; Renae Roos, Travis (Kristi) Roos and Rochelle (Josh) Hughes; eight grandchildren; Maddi Roos, Lauren, Tommy, Owen and Luke Roos, and Jaxon, Jaeger, and Maverick Hughes. He is also survived by his five siblings; Daryl (Sharron) Roos, Jana (Rick) Hanson, Lenae (Robbie) Harris, Kent (Katie) Roos, and Jay (Peggy) Roos, his brother-in-law; Dennis (Jan) Potter as well as numerous extended family members and close friends. Bryan is preceded in death by his parents (Kenneth and Berdena Roos), mother and father-in-law (Travis and Glenda Potter) and his brother-in-law Tom Potter.
A visitation for Bryan will be held at 10am on Saturday March 13, 2021 at the First Reformed Church in Sheldon, IA, followed by a memorial service at 11am. A live streaming option is also available at https://www.sheldonfirstreformed.com/worshipservices.cfm. Due to COVID, a Celebration of Life will take place in Minnesota at a later date.
