Cassius Lenander

Cassius “Cash” Kyle Lenander passed away peacefully in the arms of his parents on Tuesday, January 14, 2020.

Cash was born on Monday, April 29, 2019 in Minneapolis, MN. He was born with Down syndrome and a complex heart defect known as Tetralogy of Fallot with Pulmonary Atresia.  Cash spent over half his life in the hospital where he underwent multiple open heart surgeries and various other procedures. While he had the spirit and fight of an army, his heart simply could not sustain the needs of his body.

During his short 8.5 months here on Earth, he touched many lives and was loved deeply by family and friends. He had a smile that could light up a room, a laugh that warmed any heart, and the will and determination that would put most adults to shame. He brightened days, taught others how to love unconditionally, and fought like a warrior. Even while admitted at the hospital and intubated; Cash still shared his smile and loved nothing more than playing with balloons and snuggling his stuffies.

Cash is survived by his loving parents, Jen and Duane, his proud big sister, Caroline, grandpas, grandmas, many aunts and uncles, cousins, and countless friends. He was preceded in death by his Uncle Kyle Anderson and many other distant relatives.

A visitation will be held on Monday, January 20, from 4-7 pm and on Tuesday, January 21, from 10-11am. A funeral service will follow the visitation on Tuesday, starting at 11 am. There will be a luncheon following the service. The visitation and funeral will take place at Bradshaw Celebration of Life Center, 2800 Curve Crest Boulevard, Stillwater, MN 55082.
