Chao Xiong passed away on December 4, 2021. He was born on February 3,1949, at a village called Keo Hin (Dlawmzeb) in Phou Nong District, M. Nonghet, K, Xiengkhouang, Laos.

He is preceded in death by parents, NyaPao Xiong and Sheng Khang; and siblings, Kou, Mang, and Thao Lee.

Survived by his sibling, Mai.

Chao moved to Long Cheng in 1964. He went on to study electronics in Thailand in 1965, then returned to work as a soldier (2nd Lieutenant) and an operator in Long Cheng Radio Station.

He married Yer Yang in 1974 and had 3 kids, Alycia, John and Joseph, as well as an adoptive daughter, Pang Foua.

In 1975, Chao fled to Thailand and lived in refugee camp. He stayed until 1978, then moved to the US (Lee’s Summit, MO) to work as TV repair man and later at Westport Research, until he retired in 2012.

After his wife, Yer, passed in 2012, he moved to Minnesota, and in 2014 he lived with his partner Lia Yang.

Funeral services and gathering for Chao will be held from 9:00AM - 9:00PM on Saturday, January 22, 2022, at Bradshaw Stillwater (2800 Curve Crest Blvd.).

Services to follow, from 9:00AM - 11:00AM on Monday, January 24, 2022. Interment at Cottage Grove Cemetery at 11:30AM after Monday's service.
