Charlene was born and raised on a farm north of Watson, Minnesota, where her parents Mildred (Angrimson) and Clifford Olson homesteaded and farmed 160 acres of land, but she was not destined to be a farm girl. She went to high school in nearby Montevideo where she met her future husband Norman Bolt. After graduating she left for Olympia, Washington, and worked in a bank for a couple years. Then she moved to Oklahoma where Norman was finishing college. They married and moved to Montana, where she brought three children into the world. They returned to Minnesota, where she lived the rest of her life. She traveled extensively, to several European countries, Mexico, and Hawaii. But her favorite adventure was a trip to Alaska where her sense of adventure and her resourcefulness were tested and proven when the cruise ship left her behind because she took an unscheduled helicopter trip to take a walk on a glacier and missed the ship's departure deadline. She rallied and found a local bush pilot to fly her to the next port on the cruise where she rejoined the group. And this was before the internet.
Charlene is survived by her sister, Elaine, children David and Julie, seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren who she loved and cherished. Her son Gary and her brother Roger predeceased her, and they are now all reunited.
A private memorial service is planned.
