Passed away peacefully February 23, 2008. Preceded in death by daughter, Sandra Berg Fruen. Survived by loving family, wife, Lorraine; daughter, Nancy Mellgren (Sandra Dickson); son, Peter (Susan) Berg; 4 grandsons; 1 great granddaughter; & brother, Norman (Jo) Berg. Charles was a US Navy Veteran. As a U of M School of Architecture Alumni, his career included the design of numerous hospitals & clinics around the world. AIA & Ellerbe Beckett Emeritus member. Charles enjoyed many years of boating as a member of the St. Croix Yacht Club. Charles was a member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church for over 50 years, where he proudly served on the church council. Funeral Service 11 AM Tuesday, February 26, 2008 at GLORIA DEI LUTHERAN CHURCH, 700 Snelling Ave S. Visitation 1 hour prior to services at the church. Interment at New Richmond Cemetery. Memorials preferred to Gloria Dei Lutheran Church.
