Bronson, Charles "Chuck" Chase
Passed away on Sunday, March 1, 2015 at Waverly Gardens in North Oaks, MN. Bronson was born in Evanston IL to Charles and Marian (Chase) Bronson. He served in Europe after World War II as a military police officer. Bronson met his 'best friend' and his future wife, Patricia Mathy at Northwestern University and they married on October 13, 1951 in LaCrosse, WI. They spent most of their married life in Evanston and Glenview, IL and Alexandria, MN where Bronson worked as print business executive. They recently moved to Waverly Gardens. Bronson was an avid tennis player and golfer and enjoyed fishing and pheasant hunting. He served as a YMCA club mentor in IL and supported the efforts to build a YMCA in Alexandria. He also was a member on the local and state lakes associations and served as a moderator at the First Congregational Church in Alexandria. He is survived by his son, Mark (Loretta) Bronson; daughter, Laura (Kurt Jorgensen) Bronson; and grandchildren, Kate (Art) Errickson, John Bronson, and Spencer Bronson. He was preceded in death by his wife; sisters, Virginia Bronson and Marian (Peg) Gaskill; and brother, Frank Bronson; sister-in-law, Mary Lou Reisinger; and brother-in-law, Charles Mathy. A memorial service was held at Waverly Gardens on Thursday, March 5. Memorials are being accepted for Presbyterian Homes Foundation and the Alexandria (MN) YMCA.
