Services for Charles J. Pelnar, Jr., age 79, of Hudson, Wisconsin, formerly of Bayport, Minnesota, will be held on Saturday, January 20, 2007 at 2PM at Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church, 14940 62nd Street N. Visitation will be from 10AM to 2PM at the church. Interment will be at Fort Snelling National Cemetery at a later date. Mr. Pelnar was born on September 9, 1927 in Kewaunee, WI to Charles and Esther (Schwantes) Pelnar. He passed away on January 12, 2007 in Saint Paul. Devoted husband of Darleen (Rahn). Loving dad of: Dean (Terry), Kathi, Laurie, RaeAnn and Mark. Adoring grandpa to: Jason (Lisa), Kevin, Zach, Killion and Meagan. Amazing great-grandpa to: Erica and Kinsey. Special great-great grandpa to Adrian. Loving brother of LuEtta. Adoring uncle of Sam, Aleida and Kathy. Special loving friend of Zamies and Augie. World War Two vet. Devoted to his church and it?s young people. A role model for countless youth, he made sure so many grew into fantastic adults and leaders in their communities. He created wonderful examples for the next generation. A graduate of the University of Minnesota, he believed that education was the one thing no one could ever take away from you. Everyone who met him loved him immediately. Good-bye dad, say hi to grandpa and Dick. We all miss you and love you so much. Rest well, you did a great job!
