Christy Armstrong

Christy Joy Armstrong, 67 of Faribault, Minnesota passed away quietly and peacefully with family by her side on Friday,  February 26, 2021 at Hennepin County Medical Center. She was born November 6, 1953 in Pontiac,  Michigan to the late Robert Welch and Norma Connon. Loving Mother of Shawna Rodriguez(Lalo) and Christopher Scriver (Beth).  Extremely proud and loving Grandmother to Junior (Brittany), Ricardo, Sebastian, Megan and Kristopher and Dearest Great grandmother to Ella Rodriquez.

Christy was predeceased by her loving granddaughter Gabriella Rodriquez , Richard Armstrong, her parents as well as her brother Stephen Welch.  She is also survived by sisters Barbara Hayes (Don), Patricia Williams, Leslie Benac (Jack), step sister Debbie Gonzales (Dave) and brothers Brian Welch and Greg Connon, and several nieces and nephews whom she adored. Christy was passionate about football, loved her Florida Gators and because her grandchildren played baseball, she became an avid fan of that as well. Christy also supported pedestrian safety, as she lost her granddaughter Gabriella tragically in a hit and run and whenever possible she championed the fight to help her daughter raise awareness. Christy also enjoyed bingo and loved going whenever possible. She fought a long hard battle with many illnesses but she never lost her smile, her laugh, or her joy for life and she wasn't too be remembered that way. She's now in peace with her granddaughter, our father, and her parents and brother.

Due to Covid-19 a memorial celebrating her life will be held at later date this Spring in Michigan and will also be streamed on Facebook live.
