Age 70 of Stillwater
Beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather and Brother, died peacefully after his courageous battle with cancer surrounded by his family, 28 August, 2008. He was preceded in death by parents, August and Sophia Deppa and brother, Leroy Deppa. He will be greatly missed and forever loved by his wife of 49 years, Janet; children, Terri Deppa (Barb), Shelli Monio (Kevin), Cindi Deppa, Kristi Heintz (Mark) and Erik Deppa; grandchildren; Nicole Heintz, Brittany Monio, Amber Monio, Torre Wolf, Kayla Heintz, Sophie Deppa; sister, Marcie Kloempken; his loving nieces and nephew; mother-in law, Florence Abel. The family would like to thank the nurses and doctors at Lakeview Memorial Hospital: Oncology and the nurses of Lakeview Hospice. Ron proudly served in the MN Army National Guard from 1956 until he retired in 1993. After retirement from the MN Army National Guard, he worked for five years as the Fire Arms Safety Coordinator with the MN DNR. He then worked for five years as the Director of Disaster Services with the St. Paul Red Cross. Ron enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, traveling and was the Scout Master of Troop 249 for several years. He was very active with the American Legion Post 48, the Red Cross and with the Veteran?s Memorial Committee of Stillwater, MN. Mass of Christian Burial, Wednesday, September 3, 2008 at 10 a.m. at the CHURCH OF SAINT MICHAEL, 611 Third Street, Stillwater. Interment, Ft. Snelling. Visitation Tuesday from 4-8 p.m. at BRADSHAW CELEBRATION OF LIFE CENTER, 2800 Curve Crest Boulevard (N.W. Corner of Highway 36 and County Road 5), Stillwater with additional visitation 1 hour prior to the service at the church.
