t is with a heavy heart we announce the passing of Colleen (Fling) Layman (64) of Bayport, Minnesota.
She passed away peacefully in her sleep the morning of Tuesday, July 5, 2022. Colleen is preceded in
death by her mother and father Lilla and David Fling and brother James Fling. She is survived by her two
kids Nathan Layman and Katie (Layman) Machovsky, son-in-law Bob Machovsky, sister and brother-in-
law Mary and James “Tubby” Dombrovski, nephews Jake and his family (Shanna, Wyatt, and Lainey)
Dombrovski and Andy and his family (Mindy, Alli, and Sam) Dombrovski.
Colleen had a kind, beautiful soul, brought comfort and peace to everyone in her life, and was the glue
that held her family together. Her greatest joys in life were her two kids, Nathan and Katie. She loved
motorcycle trips with Nathan, Mary and Tubby and visiting Katie and Bob and their two dogs Kota and
Tillie in Iowa. As a lover of all dogs, she took every opportunity to spend time with
Mary and Tubby’s dog…”The Buster”.
She was also an amateur home remodeling expert and cherished working side-by-side with
Nathan on the upkeep and remodeling of their homes.
Colleen recently learned of Katie and Bob’s decision to adopt. She was overjoyed and
looked forward to spoiling her grandbaby.
Although she is no longer with us, she will never be forgotten and will always be in
our hearts and memories.
