Cory lived in the Amery area for more than 15 years, during which she was employed by Polk County Public Health Nursing Service, Amery Equity cooperative, and Franklin Signal Corporation. She relocated to Minneapolis in 1987, re-enrolling in her alma mater, Augsburg College, in its Weekend College program, earning her B.A. degree in 1992 while working fulltime. Following graduation, she was employed by churches, nonprofits and small corporations until her semi-retirement. She continued to write and volunteer for various nonprofits in recent years, while remaining active in her faith community and neighborhood.
Predeceased by son, Kirk; parents, Edwin and Irene Lundsted; siblings, Gary, Diane and Steven; uncles, aunts and cousins. Survived by sons Mark (Neale) and Kerry; daughter Becky (Steve) Schmidt; grandchildren: Jakob (Shannon), Max (Anne), Melanie, Sidney, Eric, Seth, Griffin, Abigail, Ella and Raina; and great-grandchildren, Kirk, Mara, Liam and Sophia, all in Wisconsin; sister-in-law, Jan Lundsted in Hastings, Minnesota, cousins and many friends.
Her end of life service will take place at 11 am on Saturday, November 12th at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 2730 E 31st Street, Minneapolis; visitation at 10 am, fellowship meal after service. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to the church, the Angel Foundation in Minneapolis, or the American Cancer Society's Ride to Recovery program.
