Corrine Helen Duren
Age 84, died peacefully at home surrounded by family. Corrine was a loving, caring wife, mother, grandma, great grandma, and friend. Describing her in just one word seems an impossible task but the adjective that embodies her spirit the most is loving. She was an incredibly giving, nurturing, and compassionate person. There was always a place for those who needed a home, and she would always help anyone in need. Even though she didn't always have the time, she would stop what she was doing and help in any way she could. Corrine always made sure family, and friends were well fed. It didn't matter what Corrine made it was always amazing.
Corrine met the love of her life, Gary, 64 years ago. They welcomed three children into their lives along with 8 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Some of the best memories of that early time in their lives were made camping in a homemade pickup camper at Bay Lake with grandma and grandpa Schwartzbauer. Later, they bought a travel trailer where they would camp at Moose Lake and Pine City. Once her grandchildren were born, they purchased a cabin in Pine City. She loved spending long lazy days playing with the kids in the sand, fishing off the boat, having campfires, and enjoying the time they spent together. Family meant everything to Corrine.
In addition to having an incredible gift for cooking and baking, Corrine often filled her time with crocheting, knitting, or reading one of her favorite Romance Novels. She would be the first to give you the shirt off her back. Her door was always open, and you'd be greeted with a warm smile, a bright laugh, and a tasty treat.
The depths that she will be missed cannot be put into words. Her life will always live on in our hearts.
