Cory Muggenburg
4/3/2025
Age 79, of Oakdale, passed away at home April 3, 2025.
Cory graduated from Washington High-School in 1963 and married the love of his life, Nancy (Rossi) in 1967. Cory enlisted in the Army National Guard that year and served honorably until his discharge in 1973. During that time he received his Bachelor of Science in Business, graduating in 1969.
Cory enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He spent many summers on Whitefish lake where he was known for making Mai Tai's for his friends and then beating them later at Trivial Pursuit. He was an avid card player and classic car enthusiast.
Cory was an accomplished musician, playing piano and electric guitar in a band in high-school. When he traveled, if there was an unattended piano, he was known to play for any audience, always drawing a crowd, impressing people in Ireland, Scotland, Germany, Tahiti and Mexico.
Cory spent his career in the lumber business where he enjoyed building relationships. While working with Georgia-Pacific he was singled out for the Vice President's Round Table Award in 1981, 1984 and again in 1985, becoming one of a very select group of permanent members.
Cory's specialty was relationships building. Even after retirement if you were sitting next to him he likely asked, "So where are you from?"
Cory leaves behind his wife Nancy, son Eric (Cari) and granddaughter Isabella. Cory's daughter Joanna (James Belshan) predeceased him in 2016. He is further survived by sister in-law Barbara Duncan (Stephen ) along with their children Adam, Maria and Kaytie.
