Died unexpectedly April 2, 2022

Preceded in death by mother, Judith Johnson; uncle, Rob Naplin; uncle, Richard Bailey, and paternal and maternal grandparents.

Dan Bailey will be sadly missed by his father, Mike; brother, Brian (Sondra Tryan) Bailey; sister, Chrissy (Jene) Sobolik; niece, Julia Skule; nephews, Fletcher Bailey, Rylan and Jude Sobolik; his second family: Mary, Chris, Mike, and Jeff Marble; and his 4-legged companion, Lily. Aunt and uncles: Linda Naplin, Bill Johnson, Terry and Marie Bailey, Bonnie and John Butz, Ann Bailey & Brian Gregoire, and Joan Flynn. Cousins: Erin Bailey, Brendan Gregoire, Thomas Gregoire, Ellen Gregoire, and Stephen Butz.

Dan was a loving soul who would give you the shirt off his back. Dan earned the highest honor in Boy Scouts as an Eagle Scout. He graduated from Stillwater Area High School, went on to earn his Welding Degree from St. Paul Technical College, and was a welder for Empire Bucket in Hudson for a number of years. From a young age Dan displayed an unbelievable work ethic; whether at his job or home projects, he brought grit and dedication to everything he did. Dan was an avid hunter and fisherman with a true love for the outdoors.

Dan played a large role in caring for his mother when she was diagnosed with terminal cancer. He was patient, loving, and an overall amazing caretaker to his mother. The hospice nurses called him “Nurse Dan” because of his ability to take care of her so well. Following his mother’s death Dan struggled. He became lost in addiction.  Although Dan will be dearly missed, we are glad that he is not in pain any longer and he is with his mother who he so desperately missed.

A celebration of Dan’s life will be Tuesday, April 19, 2022, 6:00 P.M. at Bradshaw Celebration of Life Center, 2800 Curve Crest Boulevard, Stillwater with a gathering of family and friends beginning at 5:00 P.M.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to help Dan’s siblings navigate unexpected expenses at https://gofund.me/47055a5f . Funds will be used for funeral expenses and to demolish his house that was badly damaged by the fire. It is our wish to clean up the land and make new memories in a place we have made so many loving memories.
