On July 3rd , Darlene (Sederlund) Svoboda was welcomed into heaven by her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She was undoubtedly met at Heaven's door by her loving parents, Herbert and Ruth Sederlund, her in-laws, Frank and Agnes Svoboda, and her beloved dog, Scruffy (along with MANY other special pups and grand-pups)!
Dar was born in Siren, Wisconsin, on December 8th, 1952. She was a 1971 graduate of Frederic High School. In September 1971, she married her the love of her life, Ronald Svoboda. Together they built a wonderful life that took them from Frederic to a hobby farm near Balsam Lake, where they lived for more than 40 years. They recently moved to Hudson to be near their children, Stacey Coffey and Scott (Katie) Svoboda and their three grandsons: Andrew Coffey (20) and Noah (16) & Lucas (14) Svoboda.
As the family grew, Dar created a warm and loving home. She cooked delicious meals, made homemade playdough, caught fireflies and frogs, and was always up for a night-walk on a warm summer night with the neighborhood kids. She had a special way of creating fun and adventure.
After retiring from Unity School District, she loved to spend time with her family. Many happy hours were spent walking with her beloved pups and grand-pups, enjoying coffee on the porch, exploring the neighborhood in the Ranger with Ron, shopping, engaging the grandkids in a rousing games of Sorry!, Dog-opoly, or Uno, and going to the Dairy Queen for a treat.
As a devoted follower of Christ, she reflected His love in her hospitality, the amazing meals she made, and always offering a listening ear. She wanted nothing more than for her family, friends, and those she met to develop a personal relationship with Jesus. She loved reading and studying the Bible and talking about God.
Dar will be loving remembered by her extended family and friends. A small memorial with family will be held to remember her.
Our family is very grateful to the wonderful staff of Lakeview Hospice - Stillwater, Minnesota for their assistance and compassionate care during this heartbreaking and difficult time.
