David Posthumus

David Albert Posthumus, 78, of Excelsior, MN, passed away Sunday, December 3, 2023, at Fairview Southdale Hospital, surrounded by loving family members. He is survived by his wife Gayle, sisters Nancy Reisetter and Marily Roorda, brothers James (wife Julie), and Robert (late wife Mary Jo), and numerous nieces and nephews.

David was born on September 29, 1945 in Albert Lea, MN to Florence and Henry Posthumus. He attended Albert Lea High School as well as Macalester College where he graduated in 1967 with a B.A. in Business Administration.

He forged a fulfilling career in international logistics and transportation. His work required extensive travel across the globe, which he loved.

David was married to his wife Gayle for 48+ years. They enjoyed traveling together, many pets, and their getaway place on Lake Superior.

He will be remembered by many for his warmth, strength, objectivity, and wise counsel.

A private funeral will be held by his immediate family. A memorial celebration of David’s life will be held at a future date.
