Age 71, of Oak Park Heights, MN, formerly of Rochester, passed away peacefully June 29, 2016 surrounded by family. Preceded in death by parents, Harold and Margaret. Survived by wife of 31 years, Beth; brother, Bill (Carol) Straka; sister, Nancy (Tom) Hausler; many nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. David Graduated from Waterloo East in 1963. He spent 4 years in the USAF in Minot, ND and graduated from Hawkeye Community College. As a horticulturist, David was the heads groundskeeper at the Governor's Mansion in MO, and was involved in building the golf course at the Five Seasons Resort in MO. Later in life, he retired from the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN where he worked in general services. A celebration of David's life will be Saturday, July 9, 2016, 11:00 A.M. at ST. PAUL LUTHERAN CHURCH, 609 South Fifth Street, Stillwater, MN. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorials are preferred to the American Diabetes Association Toured Cure.
