Beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather, and Great Grandfather

At the age of 91, Delmar died on January 5, 2024, in Woodbury, Minnesota. He is survived by his daughter, Meredith (Eric) Pederson; grandchildren, David (Jenna) Pederson, Michelle King; great grandchildren, Brooklyn, Gracia, Charlotte, Janie Lynn. Daughter, Melanie (Lonnie) Bjorgan; grandchildren, Eric (Yuliya) Bjorgan, Kirsten Bjorgan. Daughter, Melissa (Larry) Kapalin; grandchildren, Taylor Kapalin, Samuel Kapalin.

Delmar met Marilyn in their early teens and this began their 75-year love story. They would have been married 69 years this past July. Del was in the Navy stationed at the Naval Air Base in Corpus Christi, TX. They spent four years there and returned to MN.

Del and Marilyn participated in multiple Chorales, including the Port St. Lucie Chorale in Florida and the Immanuel Lutheran Church Choir during their time living in Illinois. Both Del and Marilyn were able to share their talents in concerts throughout the world and appreciated the arts during their travels.

We called Dad the inventor; he was always tinkering, fixing, and creating things. At the end of his career with Unisys, he was creating robotics.

In Florida and Minnesota, Del enjoyed playing golf with friends. He was even able to achieve 4 holes in one! He was able to golf until this past summer. Most of all he loved spending time with his family, especially during holidays and special occasions. He loved playing games and cards with family, and he liked to win! One of his favorite memories was taking the family on a Baltic Cruise for their 50th wedding anniversary.

Delmar was a faithful servant of the Lord. He brought peace and harmony to those around him and especially to his loving family.

Funeral service will be 11:00am Friday, February 9, 2024, at Bradshaw Celebration of Life Center, 2800 Curve Crest Blvd, Stillwater, MN, 55082, with visitation beginning at 10:30. Coffee and cookies reception to follow the service. Private interment at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Memorials will be donated to the SOV Choir, and Shepherd of the Valley (Afton, MN).
