Delores Schakel (nee Flaugh), beloved mother, grandmother, teacher and world traveler, passed away on August 30, 2016 surrounded by family. Preceded by husband Minnekus (Skak), siblings Harold and Clyde Flaugh, Helen Waltz. Survived by children, Leonard (Sally), Alan, Marilyn Cloutier; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; brother Harry (Margaret) Flaugh; brother-in-law Cornelius (Dutch) Schakel. Delores taught elementary school for 29 years and volunteered for countless worthy causes. Memorial service will be 10AM Saturday at Boutwells Landing Chapel, 5610 Norwich Pkwy, Oak Park Heights. In lieu of flowers, donations preferred to Heifer International or your favorite charity.
