Parents Betsey (Heringen) Alme and Joseph T. Alme
Dennis attended grade and high school in Drake, ND. He served in the US Air Force during the Korean War and was stationed in Germany. In 1959 he married Colleen Binek in Minot, North Dakota. In 1960 Dennis graduated from North Dakota State University, Fargo, ND with a degree in Electrical Engineering. He was employed by General Electric Light Military in Utica, New York followed by continued employment in Minneapolis/St. Paul with Sperry/Univac until his retirement.
Dennis loved being with his family, hunting, fishing, golf, attending Minnesota Symphony concerts, and traveling in their motorhome as well as spending as much time at the lake as time would permit. He will be remembered for his untiring generosity and kindness to family, community and church related activities. He was unselfish with his time when it came to caring for his family and friends.
He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and a 50 year member of the Butte, ND American Legion Post 270.
He is survived by his wife, Colleen, of 57 years; brothers, Norman (Lavonne) of Milnor, ND, Tom (Pat) of Balfour, ND, and Joe (Joyce) of Minot, ND; 37 nieces and nephews; 54 great nieces and nephews and 72 great-great nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parent, Joseph & Betsey; brothers, Melvin, Arnold, Robert and Russell and sisters, Mildred Canevello, Laura Welsh and Eileen Wiper.
Service at St. John's Catholic Church, Little Canada, MN with burial to be held in Balfour, ND.
