Devoted husband, father, grandpa and friend to many. Dennis passed away unexpectedly Saturday November 2, 2013 at home following a 3 year courageous battle with multiple myeloma cancer. He was born April 7, 1940 in Hallock, MN to Harland and Anne (Dunbar) Uppman. Dennis served in the Navy from 1959 to 1963. On December 30, 1966 he married Ellie Tollefson at Central Lutheran Church in Pelican Rapids.

Preceded in death by his parents and infant grandson Benjamin Ridgeman. Survived by devoted wife, Ellie of 47 years; daughters, Elizabeth (David) Kruse of Dousman, WI, Jennifer (Ken) Ridgeman of Woodbury, MN; sister, Susan (Tom) Berg of Apache Junction, AZ; brother Tom (Kristine) Uppman of Belle Plaine, MN; grandchildren, Daniel Kruse, Johnathan, Jenelle, Jessica and Jack Ridgeman; brother-in-law, Gerald (Ottillie) Tollefson of Pelican Rapids, MN; nieces, nephews, family & Friends.

Dennis was employed by Praxair Industrial Gases Co. for 35 years. He enjoyed golf, fishing, the great outdoors, and spending time with his family. He will be greatly missed by those who loved him and knew him.

A celebration of his life will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 9, 2013, at BRADSHAW CELEBRATION OF LIFE CENTER, 2800 Curve Crest Blvd (NW corner of Hwy 36 and Co. Rd.5), Stillwater. Visitation one hour prior to the service.
