Diane G. Hansen

Diane G. Hansen, 80, of Stillwater, MN passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 4, surrounded by her family and her beloved shih tzu, Girlie.

Diane was born March 14, 1944 to Ruby Phelps Anderson and Henry Anderson in Amery, WI. She spent her formative years on the family farm in St. Croix Falls, WI.

In 1966 she married Carl Hansen and moved to Minneapolis, MN. Their first daughter, Marnie, was born in 1969 and second daughter, Heidi, was born in 1971. Following their time in Minneapolis, the family lived in Martinez, CA and Minnetonka, MN for military service and schooling. The family moved back to St. Croix Falls in 1976. In 2016, Diane and Carl moved to Stillwater, MN to be closer to Marnie and Heidi.

Diane was well known for her many artistic talents and interests. She spent many years of her life sharing her beautiful singing voice in weddings and the church choir. She was also a gifted artist that enjoyed all kinds of crafting and taught many macrame and calligraphy community education classes over the years. Diane had a gift for decorating her beautiful homes and a passion for collecting jewelry pieces. She was also an avid crocheter, The blankets that she made for her family members in the last few years will be cherished dearly. Diane was the most loving and kind wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend. She will be dearly missed by all that knew her.

Diane was preceded in death by her parents Henry and Ruby Anderson. She is survived by her husband, Carl, daughter Marnie (Rich) Beard, daughter Heidi (Ted) Rogers and her most precious five grandchildren, Allyson, Teddy, Hannah, Ryan and Zach; siblings Burdette Anderson, Darlene Roberts and Debbie (Jack) Brust.

Diane's wishes were to have a small private family service at the beloved home that she shared with Carl in Stillwater. The service will be held in the fall. In Diane's honor in lieu of flowers please donate to Valley Outreach in Stillwater, MN or Peace Lutheran Church, Dresser, WI.
