Dolores Mae "Dee" Hance was born September 1, 1930 to Alfred and Olivine St. Michel Hance in Red Lake Falls, Minnesota. She attended a one-room schoolhouse in Dorothy, MN, and graduated from Red Lake Falls High School. After high school Dee attended St. Scholastica College, graduating with a degree in Elementary Education.

Dee married Richard Paul Trudeau in Dorothy, MN on June 23, 1953. Dee taught elementary school briefly, and then Dick and Dee operated a general store in Euclid, MN, before moving to Moorhead in 1958. Dee spent the next phase of her life devoting herself to raising a family in Moorhead and Thief River Falls, along with participating in several volunteer causes, and opening a business venture, "Thebothofus," in Thief River Falls.

In 1977 Dee went back to school to get her Masters Degree in Special Education at the University of North Dakota, and taught briefly in Thief River Falls, Wayzata, and St. Louis Park, before teaching for several years at the Sheriff's Youth Ranch in St. Francis.

In retirement Dick and Dee established Trudeau's Treasures, a successful antique business which took them across the United States in pursuit of treasures, and brought them to live in Stillwater, where they sold antiques in two malls.

Dee was President of the Mrs. Jaycees in Moorhead, President of the Thief River Falls Hospital Auxiliary, Regent of the Thief River Falls Catholic Daughters, and served on parish councils in Thief River Falls and New Hope. Dee was an avid reader, snowmobiler and bridge player, and skilled in various crafts. At 86 she entered two craft items in the Minnesota State Fair, and was pleased to win two blue ribbons and a sweepstakes award.

Dee entered into eternal life August 16, 2017 at Boutwell's Landing in Stillwater, MN. Dee was preceded in death by her parents, and brothers Ed, Jim and Tom. She is survived by her husband Richard, children Tim, Tammy, Todd and Tracey, her brother Lee and sister Joan, ten grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

A celebration of Dee's life will be Monday, August 21, 2017, 11:00 A.M. with a visitation one hour prior to the service at BRADSHAW CELEBRATION OF LIFE CENTER, 2800 Curve Crest Boulevard, Stillwater. Interment Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
