In loving Memory of Don Amus Fultz

57 Years as an ordained Pastor

Don passed away surrounded by loved ones on Sunday night, October 2, 2022, at the age of 84.

Don was born at Grandma Addison’s home in Walnut Grove, MN and lived there throughout his

childhood. He attended Walnut Grove High School and was involved in many extracurricular

activities. He participated in band, choir, football, baseball, National Honor Society, and was the

Student Council President. Don also worked on the family farm as well as construction work.

He was hardworking, a natural leader, and had a passion for learning. After high school

graduation, Don spent 1 year at The Lutheran Bible School Institute, 4 years at Gustavus

Adolphus College, and 4 years at Augustana Seminary.

Don married Eunice on March 24, 1963. Don loved to travel and together they travelled all over

the world. Don and Eunice explored places such as Israel, Egypt, Jordan, Kenya, Tanzania,

Malawi, Canada, Germany, Sweden, and Norway. In his free time, Don enjoyed hunting, fishing,

camping, handball, and racquetball. After full-time parish ministry, Don and Eunice ventured to

Tanzania, Africa for 13 years as volunteers for the newly established partnership between the

Saint Paul Area Synod and the Iringa Diocese Tanzania. As coordinator, along with Eunice, he

developed the Bega Kwa Bega program into a vibrate relationship that continues to grow and

evolve. His favorite invitation to participate in the partnership was “Come and See”.

Parishes served were Grace Lutheran  and Mankato Lutheran Home in Mankato, MN; Bethany Elim -

Ivanhoe, MN; Bethany Lutheran - Arco, MN; Holy Trinity - New Prague, MN; Faith Lutheran -

Forest Lake, MN. Following his parish pastoral ministry, Don served as Coordinator of the Bega

Kwa Bega Program (Iringa Diocese Tanzania) through the Saint Paul Area Synod, St. Paul, MN

Don is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Eunice; two children: Todd Fultz, Tami Salo

(Chuck); five grandchildren: Shawn Salo, Lauren Salo, Mary Fultz, Timothy Fultz, Madeline Fultz;

and brother Charles Fultz. He was preceded in death by his son, Timothy Fultz, and three

siblings: Edna Lessman, Bernard Fultz, Pauline Hemmingson.

Memorial Service will be held, Saturday October 8th 2022 11AM at

Trinity Lutheran Church ( 115 4th street N. Stillwater MN 55082)  with a visitation from 9:30 AM until time of service.

All rostered leaders are invited to vest and process for his service.

Interment will be determined on a later date at Walnut Grove Cemetery
