Donald J. (Red) Loehr, Age 93 of Woodbury, passed away peacefully on Aug 21st. Donald was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Eleanore and his son, Scott. Donald is also preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Alma Loehr and sisters, Arlene, Evelyn, Betty, Barbara and brother, Robert. He is survived by his daughter, Nancy (Todd) Krantz, his son, Andrew Loehr; grandchildren, Joseph and Katie; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
After high school, Donald enlisted in the USAF then served with the USAFR with distinction for 38 years, retiring as a Chief Master Sgt with the 934th Airlift Wing in Minneapolis.
Donald met his wife Eleanore in 1954 and they were married that same year. They enjoyed traveling and spending time with their family and friends. Donald loved the outdoors and spent many weekends at his cabin near Duluth, hunting and snowmobiling.
Graveside Service with full military honors will be held at FORT SNELLING NATIONAL CEMETERY on Sept 4th, at 10:45 am.
Donald was a big supporter the Veterans Administration and fellow veterans. We ask that any donations to be made to the Wounded Warriors Project and the VA in his honor.
